I’m the guy that connects raw data with better decisions. I transform complex datasets into understandable and insightful visuals in Power BI to help various departments track what their data is saying.

I’ve been modeling data for 18 years since I learned how to do it in graduate school. The first 11 years I worked mostly as an analyst where I wrote reports and presentations and developed multiple high-impact data models including 1.) 2009 – Forecasted natural gas demand from power plants 2.) 2011 – Forecasted NGL demand from petrochemical facilities 3.) 2017 – Ethane rejection optimization for fleet of gas processing plants 4.) 2021 – Forecasted oil & gas production scenarios.

Over the years I gradually switched my focus from analyzing data to helping others analyze data. I know there are a lot of smart people across all departments that can make better and faster decisions if they can see their data and I believe I can have a broader impact by helping them do that. That’s why I started Blackbird BI in 2018 where I primarily use Azure Data Factory, SQL, and Power BI to automate the refresh and optimize the analysis of data.

My data modeling and analyst background combined with IT skills make me a unique developer that always provides better, faster, and more actionable data reports that lead to better decisions and higher profits.
